What is special about Kellington Primary School?

We are situated in the village of Kellington in the southernmost part of the county of North Yorkshire, some seven miles to the south of the market town of Selby. The area is mainly rural and our children come from Kellington, as well as the surrounding villages of Eggborough, Beal and Birkin.  We also welcome families from further afield including Knottingley and Brayton.

The school is a modern styled building on one level, with wheelchair access, and has been open since 1979. The school comprises of an entrance hall, library, five classrooms, main hall, meeting room, staffroom and kitchen.

Our Vision

High expectations and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do at Kellington Primary School. We work hard to provide a varied and engaging curriculum which provides new opportunities that build the children’s resilience; supporting them at school and in their wider life. Our school rules of honesty, politeness, working hard, respectfulness and taking responsibility, underpin all that we do.

As a village school; staff, governors, parents and the wider community have the responsibility to empower the children, the next generation of the local community, to develop their sense of place in the World.
