Sex Education

Parents may be concerned about sex education. The school’s approach is to ensure that questions are answered honestly at the right level of the child’s understanding, and without emotional overtones. The
school has amended its policy to include sex education in a wider Personal and Social Education programme, referred to above, which will fulfil the needs of the National Curriculum and ensure that the sex
education programme is based upon moral values and gives due regard to the role of the family.
Parents have the right, it they wish, to withdraw their child from all or part of any sex education provided (but not from the teaching of the biological aspects of human growth and reproduction as necessary under National Curriculum Science).

For further information please refer to our “Sex & Relationships” Policy.
